A once-dormant restaurant building along Bartlett’s primary commercial corridor is being transformed into a new asset for the community and local economy. Tokyo Grill—an established, locally owned Japanese restaurant chain—is investing over $1 million to renovate and reopen the 2,700-square-foot building at 6815 Stage Road.
Restaurateur Aaron Liu and his father, Yun, expect to open the restaurant by late summer. Their investment includes extensive interior and exterior upgrades, highlighting their commitment to quality and long-term presence in Bartlett.
The site, vacant for three years, sits directly across from the $162 million Union Depot mixed-use development, reinforcing a growing trend of private investment in the area. City leaders, including Alderman Robert Griffin, view the project as an example of how targeted redevelopment efforts are creating momentum along the Stage Road and U.S. 70 corridor.
“Projects like Tokyo Grill signal to both residents and business leaders that Bartlett is serious about revitalization and economic vitality,” said Griffin.
Tokyo Grill will offer traditional Japanese fare—sushi, hibachi, and hot pots—in a casual, family-friendly setting. It joins a wave of entrepreneurs recognizing Bartlett for its safety, livability, and strong consumer base.
