Bartlett Restaurant Development: Panda Express to Replace Colton’s on U.S. 64

Bartlett will soon see new activity along U.S. 64 as Panda Express prepares to redevelop the former Colton’s Steak House property. The California-based restaurant chain received site plan approval from the Bartlett Planning Commission in August, paving the way for demolition of the shuttered steakhouse and construction of a modern, 2,697-square-foot building with a drive-thru.

If the schedule holds, construction will begin in early 2026 and wrap up by September of that year. The project includes new parking, improved accessibility, and a fresh dining option in one of Bartlett’s busiest commercial corridors.

This opening will bring the fifth Panda Express to the Memphis metro, strengthening the brand’s regional presence and adding to Bartlett’s mix of national and local dining choices. Meanwhile, Colton’s continues to operate in nearby Olive Branch and Marion despite closing the Bartlett location earlier this year.
