The Taste of Paradise Indian Buffet & Grill is gearing up to open on Stage Road in Bartlett by the end of the month, bringing tandoori chicken, fresh naan, and a long-overdue dose of Indian cuisine to the area. The restaurant is the latest venture from the Bangladeshi ownership group behind the newly opened Al-Aqsa International Market, which now owns and is revitalizing the entire Raina Plaza center.
Co-owner Mohammad Miah, who previously ran an Indian restaurant in New York before relocating to Memphis, says he chose Bartlett for its growing Bangladeshi community and safer business environment. The space—most recently home to the short-lived Santa Ana Mexican Bar & Grill—now includes a new clay oven but otherwise keeps much of its original interior.
Local officials are welcoming the addition, noting that Bartlett residents have been asking for more diverse dining options. With past restaurants in this location struggling to stay afloat, Miah aims to break that trend, pointing to the steady success of Grand Pacific Buffet nearby and the clear gap in the market for Indian food.
Taste of Paradise will offer a lunch buffet and a traditional dinner menu featuring chicken, beef, goat, and lamb sourced directly from their international market. Early feedback for the market has been strong, and the team expects the restaurant to tap into the same momentum.
